Description
Tilt-and-turn system Careturner/Soft Tilt
Product Overview
The award-winning Careturner/Soft Tilt tilt-and-turn system ensures gentle pressure relief during patient repositioning. Operated via a handheld controller, it minimizes the physical strain on caregivers by reducing the need for manual lifting.
The system consists of a seat section divided into right and left halves. Each half is equipped with two wings—one pointing upwards and one downwards—that work in tandem with the seat sections to support lateral repositioning.
Functionality
The seat section is mounted onto the bed frame and adapts to the lying surface of the bed. The wings can lift or cradle the patient based on individual needs and can be operated individually or simultaneously.
Silent Operation and Sensory Stimulation
The wing movements are silent and vibration-free, significantly reducing patient distress during repositioning. This allows for undisturbed sleep, as manual repositioning by caregivers is no longer required during the night.
The system’s “embracing function” (when the wings cradle the patient) has a calming effect, providing valuable sensory stimulation. This enhances the patient experience and improves working conditions for caregivers during tasks like sling application or personal care.
Manual and Automated Modes
The Careturner/Soft Tilt can be used manually for patient repositioning or programmed for automated, continuous pressure relief.
Manual Operation:
Wings can tilt between 0–80 degrees for optimal and stable side positioning.
Automated Settings:
– Repositioning intervals: adjustable between 0–180 minutes.
– Wing angles: adjustable from 0–40 degrees with counter-support from the opposite side (0–12 degrees).
– Preferred start position: customizable based on patient preferences.
– Timer function: enables the system to start automatically at a scheduled time.

Careturner//Soft Tilt is easy to install on various types of care beds and works seamlessly with the bed’s other functions. This system is compatible with care beds from: Invacare, KR Hospitalsudstyr (Able Nordic), Wissner-Bosserhoff, Stiegelmeyer, and Völker.
